Affordability and sustainability is incorporated into the project through the reuse of materials. By reusing abandoned barns in the immediate area, a sustainable duplex can easily be achieved while still involving the community in the process.

 

Recycling barns connects to Pennsylvania’s agricultural history, and creates a rich interior living space under a budget. The structure of the barn was transformed to fit the scale of the house, while other materials were used for cladding and landscaping.
